What is an Essential Oil Bottle?

An essential oil bottle is a small, specialized glass container designed to store, protect, and dispense essential oils. These bottles are not just simple containers; they are engineered to preserve the potency, integrity, and shelf life of the highly concentrated and volatile plant extracts inside.

Why Specialized Bottles are Crucial

Essential oils are complex chemical compounds that are:

• Volatile: They evaporate quickly when exposed to air.

• Photosensitive: They degrade when exposed to light, especially sunlight.

• Reactive: They can interact with certain plastics and metals, becoming contaminated or degrading the container.

Standard bottles are unsuitable. Essential oil bottles are specifically designed to counteract these issues.

Key Components and Features

Material: Dark-Colored Glass

This is the most critical feature.

• Amber (Brown): The most common color. It blocks over 90% of UV and visible light, providing excellent protection against photodegradation.
